Pigmentation Program

What Causes Hyperpigmentation?

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation follows damage to the epidermis and/or dermis with deposition of melanin within the keratinocytes (skin cells) and/or dermis.

Inflammation in the epidermis stimulates melanocytes to increase melanin production and to send the pigment to the effected area. If the basal layer is injured , melanin is released and subsequently trapped in the epidermis

Home Care:

A huge part of our Pigmentation Program is treating your skin at home, with the appropriate skin care products, starting at least 2-6 weeks before any in office pigmentation treatments. This includes the daily use of a broad spectrum daily SPF 30+, which is absolutely essential to treat any kind of pigmentation and prevent reoccurrence. Also important is the use of pigment suppressing products containing active ingredients that specifically block pigment production. Exfoliating products are also important, as they accelerate the removal of pigment.

Using a home skin care regimen with well-researched, clinically proven ingredients will help lighten and prevent future hyperpigmentation. Home care is not included but must be purchased before we begin the program!

Our Program:

Our Pigmentation Program utilizes superficial to semi-deep depth chemical peels to target pigmentation concerns. Peels are corrective treatments for pigmentation correction, anti-aging therapy, acne treatment, hyperpigmentation, softening of wrinkles, acne scars, and sun damage.

Our customized Pigmentation Program offers a wide range of chemical peels + modalities such as microdermabrasion or dermaplanig to meet your skin's specific needs. Aside from your face, chemical peels can be applied to other areas including hands, neck, décolleté, arms, chest, legs, and back, to diminish age spots and revitalize the skin.

Peels range in strength from mild to strong, and are based upon your individual circumstances. Your esthetician will advise you as to which therapies will be most advantageous for you.
